Bert Hagg Award – one award for $6,000
Erik Strand Award – four awards, each award is $3,000
Fern and Sven Halgren award – award for $3,000
Josef Oscarsson Award – award for $1,000
Frihet Lodge Award, Vasa Order of America - $750
A community-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the selection of applicants and the granting of scholarships to local King County, Washington state high school students who are entering colleges. The Seattle Swedish Community Scholarships for students entering college in the fall of 2008 are:

General Information
The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage and financially assist high school seniors to further their education beyond high school. Awards are made possible though tax-exempt donations.
Criteria and Procedures:
- Must be a high school senior who, resides in and attends a high school in King County, Washington.
- A completed application form, high school transcript, ACT or SAT scores, and family financial information (copy of IRS tax statements) must be received by the deadline date on the application.
- Finalists must be available for a personal interview in the spring of the year of the scholarships being granted.
- Swedish ancestry is not required.
- Awards will be selected on the following basis:
- The student’s high school academic record
- ACT and/or SAT scores
- Financial need
- Leadership and community service

Applications must be postmarked as indicated on the application. Awards are mailed directly to the recipient’s college for credit for their tuition
